Kaksi cappucinoa kiitos!!!

We did make an appointment with the photography teacher to learn the ins and outs of the darkroom. She began with learning us how to put our films in the spiral. We had to practice a couple of times and we had to put our own films in the spiral. But our own films couldn't get exposed to light so the whole proces had to happen in the dark. It was funny to do that. By developing the film it was hard to remember wich kind of chemicals you need at wich time. The time of developing was very hard to follow because you have to shake your tank with the film in it every 30 seconds. After developing the film we had to wash it 30 times and that takes about 15 minutes. After that part we had to let it dry. When the film was drying Christina showed us the rest of the building where the darkroom was housed in. The were also some painters active and they were making some really interesting artworks. There were also people etching (i don't know sure if it's etching, but the people i'm writing for know what i mean). After the doka work we went to the cottage and we'd make plans to go to Jarvenpaa to get some food. And that is the point where the other students tell their experience of today.

Today, we walked 3.5 km to Jarvenpaa. It was cold and Cheff hadn't bought winter shoes yet, later we will force him to go into the shoe store. But first we went to get some train tickets, because we're going to Ellus's cottage during the winter break with a smaller group and Chef and Thom maybe will drop by, but they don't know for sure yet.
After buying the tickets we went to a cafe for some coffee and cupcakes. Thom learned how to order two cappuchinos in finnish: kaksi cappucinoa kiitos (2 cappucino please). Chef ordered orange-nougat cupcakes and they were the best food we ate today!

Sini an Saara in the cafe.

Saara and Elina in the cafe.

The delicious cake of Mia.

We talked for a while and after half an hour we went to the prisma-shopping mall to look some books, and shoes for Jeffrey. We also went to the grocery store were Chef and Thom only bought the cheapest beer they could find and some chocolate bars (and grapefruits but offcourse the students didn't write that down here), they said they were gettig depressed of the high food prices in Finland. After that we walked back to the dorm and talked about Saara that will start her job at a supermarket after winter vacation and about what plans the other students have after finishing this school, about squatting in Holland and some of the Finish students are thinking of coming to the Netherlands and about Thom and Chef planning to come back to Finland in the summer to the summer cottage of Erika. One group was walking ahead and the other group was slower and walked behind. When we arrived we sat in the living room for the rest of the evening and chit-chatted about the differnces between Dutch people and Finnish people, about the Lowlands festival and that Erika and Saara will come to Holland in the summer.

Because Thom and Jeffrey were to busy to learn the doka things, they did'nt make any pictures today. Except Thom, he made one picture with Sini's camera for his 365 project, it isn't a great picture but it is one. And also Jeffrey did make one picture in the doka with his Holga. The other pictures are made by Mia and the photo's from Sini will follow.

Goodnight!!!

Thom is trying to manage Sini's simple camera, he couldn't find the power button, Chef is also interested in this magnificent kind of technique. And Petja's coffee in the foreground.
